Keeping it cheerful bright, fresh fruit, a grey wall (yes, grey can be made to be cheerful too), a made-it-ourselves pegboard to keep organized, practical restaurant food prep tables, a garden bench for baking ( and to remind me of sunny spring and
summer—even when it's not), and cheery granny square potholders.
All just the thoroughly happiest things to keep my kitchen cheerful and sunny any season, all year around.
Want to see more of our (unusual) home organization ideas like the potting bench we use for our dishes and the pegboard we made for our kitchen tools, above? We share more of our organizing ways here.
Do you love our cheery granny square potholders? I had them made for me a few months ago by a former first grade teacher, now a craft-at-home mother. The sweet maker of them, at scraps 'n' things, is still making them—in any colors you wish. And, you might want to think about getting a set of those make-your-kitchen sunshine-y potholders for yourself or as a gift too. There is never a cloudy grey day inside my grey kitchen with mine. ©heather cahoon • wordplayhouse®
