Our homemade popsicle recipe brought sweet smiles...
long after the last rainbow stripe bite.
Silly and cool fruit licks.
Bright and lovely homemade popsicle drips...on hands, cheeks, and sweet, cool lips...so good, he even licks the drips off the stick.
Our fruit popsicles make a sweet healthy treat for kids. Perfect for some sitting on the porch, or front stoop, together time. And for cooling off. It's a full of fruit recipe that our kids love.
healthy homemade popsicles
Partially thaw frozen mango. Mash with a potato masher (or large fork). Fill mini paper cups or popsicle molds 1/2 to 3/4 full with mashed mango. Add a layer of blueberries. Pour lemonade (or juice) over blueberries until the spaces between the berries are filled (ours only took a couple of teaspoons of lemonade per ice pop). Push a popsicle stick (or washed twig*, like we did) through the fruit layers. Freeze.
These easy homemade popsicles are fun for kids to help make too. They are healthy snacks for toddlers and kids, and a fun—and cool—way to eat fruit.
*Why the twigs? The children were excited about the homemade popsicles already in colorful layers in our cups. Now we just needed to push in the popsicle sticks...the popsicles sticks? Oops. Our daughter had used the rest on a craft project, and we didn't have any left. We improvised and had even more fun scavenging in the sunshine for twigs to push into our popsicles instead.
