Rain. Wonderful day for wet, water, outside play.
The children were outside playing.
But their rain boots* were not. The dry boots still stood guard at the front door where they usually waited on sunny days. I was curious what they were wearing—
Two children were barefoot. This one was wearing her very best dress shoes, of course.
The very next day it was sunny. Now on this bright day, the boots lined up in our entry way weren't there any longer. Not one—
—but two little ones were playing in the sunshine with their rain boots.
Makes-mostly-no-sense moral of our story: Bare feet, or your very best shoes, for rainy day play. Rain boots for sunny day nature play. Silly kids' sense.
