Holiday traditions. They form some of our most vividly remembered childhood moments—their remembrances reinforced every year through repetition. Our tradition before Valentine's Day is to decorate with projects we've created from years past. Opening the box of decorations is like opening a special gift. Everything inside is laid out and lovingly handled with thoughtful remembrance. Each piece pulled from the gift box reminds us of the special moment it was made. Of every year that it has been hung and remembered. Of every other happy Valentine's Day we've shared.
These are traditions. Our dear traditions. Looked forward to every year while our children are young. To be looked fondly back upon when they are grown. ©heather cahoon • wordplayhouse
